About Us
Cambridge & District YFC was founded in 2001 with the aim of 'taking good news relevantly to every young person in Cambridge and District. We're an independant local charity, here to encourage the churches in the city and surrounding area into effective youth ministry.
We're one of 64 chartered centres of British Youth for Christ, operating in towns and cities across the UK. Our head office provide support staff, national mission teams and more to help us in our work. YFC was launched in 1946 by the evangelist Billy Graham, whose original vision statement was: "Geared to the times, anchored to the Rock". Now headed up by Gavin Calver, YFC is aiming to be working with 'a million young people every month'.
We have over 80 members who are part of local church and support out aims and objectives. They meet each year to appoint the executive committee. The exec comprises our trustees and senior staff who govern the affairs of the charity and keep us focussed on the mission.
