Suffering

2 Timothy 2 v 8, 9

“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.”

  

How far would you go for the word of God?

How much would you endure?

How much pain would you go through?

 

Would you be willing to suffer for the gospel, to go through hardships to see the word of God taken across the world?

 

We see Paul, the writer of 2 Timothy, chained like a criminal for the Gospel. Many times throughout his writings we see him being beaten within inches of death, flogged, stoned and spat on……and why?

 

Because he had a passion for seeing the word of God spread throughout the nations. He had such a passion that he word spread the Gospel no matter what the cost was.

 

In our own lives, what’s holding us back? Is it the fear of rejection, of losing something, or even someone?

 

Ask God today to give you such a passion for Him that you would do anything – no matter what the cost.
