Hope Revolution is a new movement to inspire Christian young people to make a difference to their friends, schools, communities and the world. It’s the part of Hope 2008 that’s especially for 11-18’s.
The Schools Challenge
Hope Revolution Schools Challenge is open to every school in the UK, challenging students to run a project to bring Hope! It’s linked to the “champions of respect” awards, so the schools running the most outstanding projects in the UK will have a chance to attend a ceremony hosted by the Prince of Wales!
The Project
We’re encouraging Christian young people in every school in Cambridge and District to do something to make a positive difference to their school. All sorts of creative ideas could work….
Washing the staff members cars one lunchtime
Cleaning or painting
Organising ‘appreciate your caretaker/dinnerlady’ day
Giving crème eggs to everyone in year 7!
Blessing the girls toilets with luxury hand cream
But it’s up to you. What would work in your school?
Spreading the word
Every group running a project should attempt to lead an assembly in school. Cambridge & District YFC will be on hand to help with video presentations, sound systems, props, drama and the like to make the assembly as cool as possible. Through the assembly the group should inform the school what they’ll be doing and why.
In addition, each group should make a video of their project, which will form part of a celebration event, a great opportunity to show friends and classmates what you’ve been up to.
Getting Ready
If you want to get involved in Schools Challenge, sign up using the registration card or email us - mail@cambridgeyfc.com
We’ll send you a pack of information about how to get started. If you need anything at all, talk to us!
Start Today!
You can run your project whenever you like, but we’re encouraging everyone to pull out all the stops as soon as possible!
So don’t hang about, get a couple of friends together today and start scheming! As soon as possible, try to get a member of staff involved, or go straight to the head to get his support for the project.
And remember Cambridge & District YFC are on hand to do whatever you need, whether doing lessons and assemblies in schools, leading a CU meeting to help get everyone excited about it, or speaking to the school management to support it.
